Treatment Planning of Failed Esthetic Cases
- CEUS Earned: 2
DCSI and Treatment Planning of A Failed Esthetic Cases The Dental Crime Scene Investigation (DCSI) will be presented and I will go through an analysis to solve the crimes that caused the problems as well as treatment choices to resolve the problems. If we don’t complete a comprehensive examination including analyzing the occlusion before we restore the esthetics we will have failure instead of success. With this patient I will evaluate the case, discover why the anterior restoration failed and design the optimum comprehensive treatment plan. What are the periodontal considerations, occlusal scheme, esthetic plan and is orthodontics needed? If there are financial limitations, I will describe how to segment the case without compromising the ideal esthetic-occlusal principles and discuss how to communicate the case to the patient.

The testimony is accurate, but has been condensed somewhat in order to fit in the time frame. An actual dental malpractice trial could last as long as three to four weeks, depending on its complexity. The case involves a failure to diagnose a squamos cell carcinoma.
